Full knee replacement replaces the whole joint
Used when the damage covers the whole knee.
Partial knee replacement replaces only the damaged part
Used when only one part of the knee is damaged. The rest of your knee stays as it is.
An exam tells you which one you need
An X-ray or scan, plus a physical exam, shows how much of the knee is damaged. That decides which surgery is right.

Before you come in
What does robotic joint replacement actually change?
The accuracy of implant positioning. The plan is made from your own measurements and the robotic arm holds the surgeon to it during the procedure. The surgeon still performs the operation. The robot does not replace judgement, it removes variation from execution.
Will I definitely need surgery?
Often not. A large share of joint, back and sports complaints improve with medication, an injection or physiotherapy, and those are offered first where they are the right treatment. If surgery is recommended, you will be told why the alternatives are not suitable for your case.
How long is recovery after a joint replacement?
It depends on the joint, your age and your general health, so the honest answer is that your surgeon will give you a timeline for your case at consultation, including when you can expect to walk unaided, drive, and return to work. Ask for it before you agree to the surgery.
Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?
Both work. Booking ahead means a shorter wait and lets us tell you if the doctor you need is in that day. Use the booking form on this site, or find our numbers on the contact page.
